His Holiness the Dalai Lama

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, was born on 6 July 1935 in Taktser, Amdo, Tibet. He is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people and has been a symbol of peace and non-violence for over six decades. In 1950, at the age of 15, he was formally enthroned as the spiritual and political leader of Tibet. In 1959, following the Chinese invasion of Tibet, he fled to India where he established the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in exile. Since then, he has dedicated his life to promoting peace, compassion, and understanding among all people. In recognition of his efforts to promote peace and non-violence, His Holiness was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. He continues to travel the world, sharing his message of compassion and advocating for the rights of the Tibetan people.
